Night-time: Monuments

The Nelson Monument (far left) and National Monument (left) as viewed from the apartment window. Just before 1.00pm each day the large ball at the base of the mast is hoisted to the top and exactly at 1.00pm it is dropped. This is a time marker for seamen in and around Edinburgh's ports.
